A good every day bag should be pretty easy to find when you have kids, but it’s not – or maybe I’m a bit fussy. But, worry no more and get a bit excited, because new brand TIBA + MARL launch in September and will satisfy your mum/dad bag needs. Launching with 4 main styles, Raf, Elwood, Mabel and James, these bags all contain the following features: padded changing mat, insulated bottle holder, smart phone pocket, key fob, removable clutch or cross body bag, wipe clean lining, internal zip pocket, plus 4 extra pockets, a cross body strap, elasticated bottle/toddler cup holder, and metal feet on the base of the bags. There is also a signature nappy changing clutch in the range, in various prints. The styles and prints are varied enough to suit everyone, and a mum and dad team should be able to agree on one they are both happy to use, whether it’s plain black or leopard.
Anna and Lydia are the mum’s behind these bags, both from a fashion background and now have 2 littles each so know what a good parent bag needs. You can sign up to the waiting list here
We have one of our quick little q&a’s with Anna here:
Who do you live with and where?
With my husband James, my 2 year old son Raf and 4 month old baby boy, Miller. We live in Ealing, West London
How did you get together to form Tiba and Marl? How have you found
starting a business and juggling motherhood?
Lydia and I have been friends for many years – she was my designer in my first job in fashion buying, back when we were really fresh faced!! Between us we have 4 children – both our youngest are still babies – we both couldn’t find a nappy changing bag we liked and decided that we would just create a brand ourselves!! We already have 80 people on a waiting list for our ELWOOD backpack – that in itself makes all the hard worth seem worthwhile, and we have received so many amazing messages from mums and mums-to-be saying they can’t wait for the bags. It has been hard work starting the business with small children but we are so passionate about the brand and it really helps that Lydia and I are in the same situation and can bounce off each other. In some ways it has been the perfect time to start a business as we are so driven and focused on our aims.
What is the hardest thing about motherhood for you right now and what is
your favourite thing to do or place to go as a family?
Hardest thing at the moment is that I’m still breastfeeding and he won’t take a bottle and I’m worried what I will do when we have our trade show in June – may just be sat at the stand with a baby on my boob!!! It is hard to balance family time and work, I’m finding myself particularly addicted to Instagram as exciting things are happening daily and it’s so temping to look constantly – but then I feel so guilty doing it in front of the kids 🙁
Favourite thing to do – we love days out in Richmond park or Kew Gardens followed by a family evening meal of dim sum! My two year old hoovers up prawn dumplings!
