We’ve got some new crayons available from the store this week by CrayonBox.  Lovely hand made sets that make great little gifts.  We have an Easter set, a great alternative to chocolate for the young ones.  You can also get crayons in the shape of lego men, dinosaurs, hearts, to name a few.  They are a great way to encourage children to colour and draw using these mini characters.

CrayonBox crayons are hand made at home by founder Rebecca.  All are made using high quality non-toxic wax in many vibrant colours.
A little Q&A with Rebecca:
Where do you live and with whom?
I live in a small village in North Yorkshire with my husband Will, our 2 children Oscar & Elsie. And buzz the cat.
When did you start CrayonBox and why?
I started crayon box in October 2013. It was in an attempt to get Oscar to sit & colour. I made him some Lego style crayons, popped a picture on facebook & its just grown from there. It’s been a bit of luck & a lot of hardwork but I’m enjoying every bit of it.
What are your children in to, and what makes them laugh?
Oscar is a typical 3 year old boy. He likes running, bouncing, crashing & just generally making lots of noise. He still rarely colours as that involves sitting still!
His favourite pastime though is playing with Elsie. He spends hours with her trying to make her laugh. He makes her picnics & tells her stories. She’s only 7 months & they already adore each other.

Happy weekend, hope the sun shines where you will be x

Star Wars Mini

I found these Star Wars books about Darth Vader’s relationship with Luke and Leia as little kids while looking for a Father’s Day gift.  The books by Jeffrey Brown are fun for both us parents and the little one’s, and bring a light hearted touch to the ‘dark side’.

don’t forget the dads

We love this site ‘Not a Bad Dad‘.  Founded by Simon Tyler in April 2012, it’s an online magazine offering great articles and cool finds for dads and their kids.

There is also a shop by Not a Bad Dad called ‘Father‘.  It has a selection of great hand picked products, full of design and quality.  The site has a cool feature where you can enter the birthdays you need to remember and it will send you a reminder a couple of weeks before the date, with a selection of gift suggestions.  These guys are truly creating something special and not forgetting the dads.

Any guesses on what Lil’ Bean 3 will be?  Due 23rd November 2013.

If any of you are free this morning, you should head to Pram Jam’s event at Screen On The Green 11am.  It’s a baby friendly screening of ‘Birth Story’: Ina May Gaskin & the Farm Midwives.  You can watch a trailer here http://birthstorymovie.com/trailer/

Hope you have a happy and sunny weekend x

The Glow is the website of beautifully shot cool, fashionable mums, in there stylish homes, with their cool kids.  Sounds a bit sickening, but it’s very addictive.  The site was founded by Violet Gaynor and Kelly Stuart in 2011.  It shoots mums in their homes with their children, accompanied by nice interviews, containing recipes, their experiences, tips and top kids shops.  If you like browsing through great photography, interiors, mums and there off-spring make sure you take a look.

We first saw Monster’s Baby in their pop-up shop at Boxpark, Shorditch.  They have great, fun, bright graphic t-shirts for little ones, for ages 0-8yrs.  There is a collaboration with artist Ronzo on the way, as well as extending their range.

The lil’ bean loves his ‘alpha boy’ T.

You can buy from the Monster’s Baby website and Selfridges!  We are looking forward to what’s to come from this brand.
